We’re Printing a Book! A Sneak Peek at an Exciting New Client Project
At King Horizon, we spend a lot of our time talking about hard drives, computer parts, and alot of tech. But a few months ago, a client came to us with a project that was completely outside of our usual field: they are publishing a psychological fiction novel, and they hired us to handle the printing, binding, and distribution strategy.
This is a massive deal for us. This is our very first time taking a product in plan and turning it into a real, tangible item you can hold in your hands. We are absolutely thrilled to expand our horizons and to be on this journey, and we wanted to personally share an exciting update on how it’s all coming together!
Where the Book Stands Right Now
The biggest news first: the client has officially finished writing the final draft! The story is completely on paper.
Right now, the manuscript is going through the intense editing and proofreading stage. It’s that final, crucial polish where they comb through every page to make sure the suspense lands perfectly and every sentence shines.
While the author focuses on the words, we’ve been busy behind the scenes setting up the actual production line.
The First 500 Copies Are Locked In
We wanted this book to feel like a premium, high-quality item when it lands on a reader's shelf, so we spent a lot of time vetting suppliers. We are happy to report that we have officially secured a fantastic printer and arranged an initial run of 500 copies.
Getting that contract locked in makes the whole project feel incredibly real.
Once the editing wraps up, our next job is to build the launchpad. We’ll be creating a dedicated landing page on the website and updating our store listings with all the juicy details: the official price, the book summary, and a gorgeous image of the final cover design.
The Timeline
We are moving fast, and we have a clear map to the finish line:
In 3 Months: We expect to drop the final announcement with the book title, the final pricing, and the official cover art reveal.
Before the Year is Out: The books will be printed, packed, and officially released into the wild!
Just the Beginning...
We are having so much fun managing this project that we’re already looking at the long game. If everything goes smoothly with this first launch—and we have every reason to think it will—we are already in early chats to print and distribute a second book that this same client is starting to develop.
Stepping into the world of book printing has been an incredible ride so far. It turns out that whether you're building a 130-terabyte server or publishing a mind-bending novel, it all comes down to good planning and great teamwork.
